These are some of the most dangerous Minecraft mods you can install. And there’s a lot of them to go through.
Live up to your middle name and try some of them, or maybe all of them if danger’s your first and last name too.
10. Deadly World
Supported Versions: 1.5, 1.7, 1.12
Careful where you step, because it’s a scary world out there.
And it’s about to get a whole lot scarier when you install Deadly World.
This mod adds traps and tricky structures, all made with the intention of turning you into a nice meal for some wandering creature’s stomach.
These traps include mines, silverfish veins, lava pockets, and things that shoot arrows everywhere.
Everywhere includes your head, by the way.
9. Instant Drowning
Supported Versions: 1.8
One of my favorite things to do in Minecraft is underwater mining.
It’s often way easier to get to low depths quickly, plus it makes me feel like a diver.
Instant Drowning might make me think twice about my Minecraft profession. Better savor those air bubbles because the moment you’re out, so are your hearts!
8. Deadly Monsters
Supported Versions: 1.10-1.12
If the monsters in vanilla Minecraft aren’t cutting it, then the monsters in Deadly Monsters definitely will.
And by it, I mean you, because these definitely aren’t vanilla monsters – and you’re definitely nothing but an object to them!
And not just any object. You’re food.
You’re what these monsters see when they’re in creative mode, and they go to the “foodstuffs” section of the creative inventory menu.
Okay, okay, I’m trying to scare you a bit. But only because I care for your safety!
In addition to the monsters, this mod also adds fortification blocks that you can use to defend yourself.
I really tried to hammer in the danger of these monsters in the hopes that you’ll hammer in some fortification in your base!
7. AtomicStryker’s Infernal Mobs
Supported Versions: 1.15-1.17
What’s one way to make a monster deadlier?
Enchant them!
This mod makes monsters deadlier by sometimes adding enchantment buffs to them.
I don’t mean that they get enchanted armor and weapons, no. The monsters themselves get enchanted.
Let’s see if your enchanted weapons are any match for enchanted mobs.
6. Mowzie’s Mobs
Supported Versions: 1.14-1.16
Mowzie’s Mobs adds several very interesting new mobs to the game.
These mobs include giant ice monsters, sumo wrestler knights, flying poison-breath dragons, and plenty more!
Seriously though, what did those dragons eat? Spoiled potatoes?
While most of these mobs are deadly, some are more pleasant to find, so you’ll get breaks from all the shenanigans.
One cute little mob even drops diamonds – but you’ll have to be faster than it to get them!
Because Mowzie’s cute little diamond mob does not want to lose its diamonds.
5. Nightmare Creatures Mod
Supported Versions: 1.7
This is not the kind of mod you want to play before bed.
Then again, neither are any of these…
Nightmare Creatures Mod adds several new monsters, some of which can only be hurt with fire. So get your pyromaniac on!
It’s a mod that takes inspiration from Dark Souls, Insidious, Dying Light, and other games, and it probably shares the same intentions as its idols: to scare the pants off you.
Honestly, don’t even bother crafting leggings if you’re going to install this mod.
If you’re super twisted, you can tame some of these nightmare creatures too.
Lucid dreaming is one way to conquer your nightmares – and I guess domesticating them is another!
4. Mutant Beasts
Supported Versions: 1.14-1.16
Mutant Beasts is a remake of the Mutant Creatures mod, except this one is for newer Minecraft versions.
The mod adds mutant forms of monsters to Minecraft.
And believe me, these things are terrifying.
These beasts are much deadlier than their non-mutant counterparts, and definitely a lot scarier-looking too.
3. Dungeon Mobs Reborn
Supported Versions: 1.12
Imagine fighting a monster.
Now imagine fighting a monster that’s been to prison.
The mobs that Dungeon Mobs Reborn adds are definitely nothing like your typical vanilla monsters.
Taken straight from the dungeons of hell, these things will have you wishing they were still locked up somewhere, preferably far away.
And this mod adds custom monsters that will burn you, storm you with arrows, inflict you with potion effects, and much more.
The one thing all of them have in common is how intimidating they are.
2. Rough Mobs 2
Supported Versions: 1.12
You’ll have a rough time with these rough mobs because they’ll rough you up!
Rough Mobs 2 contains several features that make vanilla mobs significantly harder. Or rougher, I should say.
These features include thieving endermen, invisible creepers, and cobweb-slinging spiders!
Proceed with caution.
1. Ice And Fire Dragons
Supported Versions: 1.12, 1.15-1.16
Better stock up with more arrows than the superhero Arrow himself, because all of the dragons added with this mod are incredibly powerful.
Fire dragons spit more fire than the Soundcloud rapper that you went to school with – which, to be fair, probably isn’t that impressive.
Unless you were that Soundcloud rapper. In that case, it’s super impressive!
Please don’t make a diss track about me. My self-esteem already took a hit after I tried to fight a virtual fire-breathing monster so I definitely do not want to fight a real one.
Ice dragons, on the other hand, will use their mouths to freeze you to death.
Where do I learn this power? An ice cream truck?
There are also lightning dragons.
They’re basically Zeus in dragon form, breathing lightning down the necks of whoever’s below them. Probably out of frustration from not being recognized in the name of this mod.
You can tame these beasts, but uh… good luck doing that.
