The topic of the upcoming Technical Afternoon of EFRIARC – the Portuguese Association of Industrial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers – is “HVAC Installations in Hospital Operating Rooms: From Design to Utilization.” The seminar will take place at the Ramada Lisbon Hotel onMarch 26. During this event, experts will discuss the specific characteristics of HVAC installations in hospital operating rooms, covering aspects from conception to practical use. Topics will include ventilation and filtration principles, physical and microbiological testing for initial qualification, and the implications of ongoing activity in the operating room for HVAC system maintenance.

Under the theme "Conversations around #Stomatherapy", where the aim is to evaluate the practical challenges of Stomatherapy, analyzing the experiences of professionals and patients, this event makes this possible by bringing together healthcare professionals and stakeholders involved. 🧑⚕️ 👵🔬SAMS Mais Academy doubly invited BestHealth4U to participate in the event, contributing to the panel "Practical Challenges of Stomatherapy - A Teamwork Job" with the theme "#Materials - Evolution and #Diversity", where yesterday BH4U presented the technologies it develops and how these can improve the quality of life of users and healthcare professionals, as well as their environmental impact, given that they are single-use devices, and with our CEO, Sónia Ferreira, sharing her personal experience. 🌱👧With an ostomy for almost 40 years, her first stomatherapy nurse was the first Portuguese nurse trained in stomatherapy care, nurse Augusta Pinheiro. She used ostomy pouches that were discontinued for environmental reasons and others for the damage they caused to the skin. Still in the aftermath of International Women's Day, equality as a whole, she spoke of the way women with ostomies are "guided" on the day they decide to become mothers, hearing "Are you sure about this?" followed by "Good luck!" when the answer is a "Yes!" answer. This is why her pregnancy was a case study but as normal as any other.🤰In the digital era, it is urgent to know the number of ostomy patients in Portugal. For that, we need to bring together everyone involved in the subject, from patient associations to associations of professionals in the field to the various governmental and non-governmental organizations, such as INFARMED, I.P., APORMED - Associação Portuguesa das Empresas de Dispositivos Médicos to public and private hospitals, so that the existing critical mass can help improve the whole. 🤝BH4U would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to SAMS Mais Academy for their instrumental role in organizing this event. Their efforts projected transformative ideas and developments in healthcare into the future but also inspired and motivated all participants, including us.
