Jarod Skills at 5★
Null Spear+ At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd+5 to unit during combat, and also, if unit's Spd > foe's Spd, neutralizes effects that guarantee foe's follow-up attacks and effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks and deals +5 damage during combat (except when dealing damage with area-of-effect Specials). |

◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
Neutral IVs by default!
As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Jarod will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.
+Spd / -Res
The best IVs for Jarod are +Spd and -Res. Lacking an exclusive weapon of his own, Jarod needs every edge he can obtain, and boosting Spd allows him to keep up with the fastest metagame units.
Jarod's Res is his least important stat and can be safely taken as a bane.
+Spd for a +10 merge
We recommend +Spd when merging Jarod up to +10 to maximize the chances of his foes being unable to create follow-up attacks against him.

Jarod Roles, Strengths, and Weaknesses
Jarod Roles

---|---|---|---|
Close-Physical | Ranged-Physical | Close-Magic | Ranged-Magic |
Physical Wall | Magic Wall | Effective Weapon | Movement Assist |
Exclusive Skill | All-Range Counter | Recovery | Refresher |
Legendary | Mythic | Duo / Harmonized | Resplendent |
Jarod is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Jarod Strengths
Null Spear+ has a Null Follow-Up effect and deals bonus damage
Jarod's inheritable Null Spear+ grants him Atk/Spd+5, a Null Follow-Up effect, and +5 bonus damage per attack during combat.
While not as impressive as exclusive or Arcane weapons, Null Spear+ provides enough offensive benefits to be worth using on a budget compared to other inheritable weapons.
Jarod Weaknesses
Saturation
Jarod is yet another speedy lance infantry unit in a game filled with similar units.
It may be difficult to find room on your team for Jarod while ensuring that the team has ample coverage for a wide variety of foes.
Lack of Unique Skills
Jarod suffers from not having any unique skills to call his own, making him unable to stand out amongst other units.
Lance infantry units are quite abundant in the game, and lacking an exclusive weapon makes Jarod replaceable by better units.
