We were told that there was limited parking and since we were arriving early in the day we didn't think there would be an issue. Evidently you have to reserve parking in advance which wasn't made clear in our communications. Fortunately there is a parking garage right across the street and it wasn't very expensive. We stayed here twelve years ago and had a much better visit this time. The last time we were on the first floor along the busy street so didn't get much sleep due to the noise but this time our window was into the courtyard so a much better stay. The breakfast that was included was plentiful.

It is in a great location, very central, close to many attractions. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was great, the rooms are small but the bed is clean and comfortable.

Breakfast had wonderful selections. Everything we wanted to see or do was nearby. The pillows were just awful. They totally disappeared when you laid your head down. Heated towel rack did not work. They told us maintenance would come by and fix it, but that never happened. Room was so small, that my husband and I had a tough time getting around each other

If ever my family and I return to Munich, we will definitely stay at the Hotel Blauer Bock! The entire staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Though we arrived much earlier than our check in time, we were still able to park our car in the garage below the hotel (a great benefit) and store our luggage with them! The lobby was a cozy stop each day for a cup of tea after exploring the nearby Marienplatz and sights of Munich! Our rooms were very modern, clean and comfortable. We loved the decor of the restaurant and the breakfasts were excellent. Thank you Rick Steves and your Germany guidebook for recommending this independent hotel in the heart of Munich!!

Very convenient location one block from Viktualienmarkt with their own sleepy little Sebastienplatz featuring a few cafes. Directly across from Eataly and one block from Der Pschorr, also sidewalk pizza cafes and others nearby, so you have a little bit of everything in Old Town Munich. Hotel Blauer Bock breakfast buffet is very nice, and service and friendliness here are excellent. Rooms clean and minimal with a nice old world feel to them, like a comfortable dormitory, which makes sense for a prior monastery. I walked easily from Marienplatz and from Sendlinger Tor Ubahn stops with my luggage. Stayed three nights over two separate weekends. Reasonably quiet.

This is a wonderful quaint hotel, historic in nature, yet with all the modern amenities you would expect. However, the best thing about Blauer Bock is its convenient location, complete (and excellent!) breakfast, and kind service.The location is perfect for Muenchner connoisseurs as well as newbies who want to have convenient and quick access to all the beauty the city has to offer. The adjacent Viktualienmarkt offers a variety of excellent casual eating along with other quality restaurants nearby. Marienplatz is about a 5 minute walk from where you see the Rathaus and many other worthy sites. Munich is immensely walkable so that all key attractions are easily reached.The breakfast buffet is replete with local delicacies. Coffee is generously served by a very friendly and hospitable staff. Yogurt, muesli, eggs, German bread, cold cuts, etc. are plentiful. All in a setting of tablecloths, cloth napkins, and real cutlery (no plastic!).Lastly, the staff is very helpful and kind with the owner/manager visibly working alongside his co-workers. Whether it is the front desk, restaurant, or room service, they are the best. The property was very clean and well-cared for. Highly recommend! The rooms were a little on the smaller side for single bedroom. Other than that, everything else is great about this hotel.

This location was perfect. Great courtyard with fun restaurants. Blocks from everything. Not sure how summer would be with limited AC. Free breakfast a real plus. Internet spotty.

This hotel was in a great location right near the Marienplatz. The room was huge and it had a nice bathroom with a large shower. It is not modern in any way apart from the bathroom and the restaurant although that is part of it's charm. It is rather pricey for what you get, but part of that is because of it's excellent location. The breakfast was amazing, especially their staff (Ella?). A couple of small, odd things--if you take anything out of the buffet you were charged, and losing a room keycard would cost 25e--which seems excessive.

This is an over priced hotel with low value and amenities. The location is all they have going for them. We paid close to $300 a night for a tiny room, no a/c, no refrigerator, no toiletries. It’s a very bare bones place with a high price tag. The room was hot. We had to open our window and door to create a draft. To top it off, they have unreasonable policies. If you lose the plastic key, you are required to pay 25 Euros. This is excessive and an example of the horrible hotel policy. I highly recommend going somewhere else.
